Today we learned more of what water can do! We dropped water onto regular paper towel and observed that it got absorbed. When we dropped water onto wax paper, it  didn't stick and it rolled off! Also, when we applied 2 drops and pushed them together, they stuck together.
We also learned that ducks have an oil on their feathers that lets water roll off so they don't stay wet. Seals also have an oil on their fur, so that water rolls off and they don't stay wet.

Today scholastic orders are going home. If you wish to order, please have your order in by Thursday January 30th.

We had our visit from Arctic in the classroom yesterday. We saw a lot of artifacts and had to guess what they were made of and what they were used for. Ask your child about some of the things they saw.

The students have a spelling quiz tomorrow. Please have them practice their words.

We will have a new science journal question tomorrow. Please send in your child's science journal.
