Dear parents,

Today we worked on writing our paragraphs about our story settings.

Mrs. Howard took a survey about what are Room 1's favorite colours.  She then took that data and made a graph from the results. Most people in room 1 like Blue!

We also worked on organizing our weather data into a bar graph. We took our weather tracking data and put it into a graph that showed which community had the most cold days and which community had the most warm days. Ask your child what they could determine by reading their graph.

Tomorrow the students have a quiz on their spelling words. Please help them practice tonight!

Please send food bank donations to our classroom. We are going to be making some observations about what food items we receive.

Dear parents,

We had a chilly but wonderful day at the zoo! We learned about animals in the Candian wild and how they adapt to their environment. The students also had to compare the animal they picked from Fish Creek or Prince's Island and compare it to an animal they found at the zoo.

This Friday is the Maple Ridge School Remembrance Day assembly. Parents are welcome to join for this. Please ensure your child is dressed respectfully for this assembly as it is a serious and somber occasion.

Our Next field trip in November 19th to Arts Common. We now have enough volunteers for this trip.

Thank you to the helpers who make our field trips possible!
