Dear parents,

This morning we continued to work on making inferences about our mystery object. We had to describe the sound our object made when we shook the container. That was a qualitative observation.
We used onomatopoeia to describe the sounds. We heard "click clack, rattle, sizzle, splash, swoosh, tick tick, plink, clink, bonk".

We checked to see if our mystery object had magnetic properties. We applied what we knew about metal sticking to a magnet to help us make our inference. We learned that copper is a metal that does not stick to a magnet.

After we made observations and applied what we knew, we made an inference! Ask your child what their mystery object was.

We read a book called Seven Blind Mice. There was a mystery thing in the book. Ask your child what the mystery object in the book was. It helped us understand that to  made a good inference we have to look at the "whole" thing.

We did some Valentine's art today.
