Happy Halloween! Today we sketched a pumpkin. We also finished our witch leg art! We had a Halloween parade with the whole school so we could see everyone's costumes.

We cut open some pumpkins and we all had a turn to take out some seeds and guts. We made some observations about how the insides of a pumpkin felt. It felt gooey, soft, slippery, mushy, slimy, wet and sticky! Ask your child how to spell pumpkin!

No school tomorrow for students.
Our zoo field trip is November 6th. I am still waiting for student forms.
Please let me know if you can volunteer for November 19th to Arts Common.

Today was our field trip to Telus Spark. We learned about building habitats and shelter for animals. The animals we were assigned were coyote, red-winged black bird, hare, mouse and muskrat. We had supplies such as cardboard, table clothes, tarps, tubes, and pipe connectors.

Thank you to the adult volunteers for making this trip possible.

Our zoo field trip is coming up on November 6th. Please have the students forms in ASAP.  It would be great to get one more volunteer for this trip.

We have another field trip on November 19th to Arts Common. We will need 5 volunteers for this trip. Please contact me if you have your security clearance and if you are available.

Maple Ridge school is celebrating Halloween on Thursday this week. The students may wear their costumes. We ask for no masks or weapons. If you are able to send in some healthy snacks for our afternoon, please let me know. No candy for snack time, thank you.

The students in room 1 have their science journal and research papers in their backpack for homework this weekend.

Our buddies came and helped us research this morning. This weekend, if you could help your child take their jot nots and put them into sentences. The papers are provided for you in the red duotangs.

Please return red duotangs  and science journals to school on Monday.

Thank you!
