Tomorrow is our field trip to Arts Common.
The students are reminded to bring a lunch, 2 snacks and a water bottle.

Today we did a draw for a bucket filling job. Ask your child what bucket filling job they got.

We learned what the land is like in the three communities we are studying.  We also learned about the water in those areas. We learned about a bay, creek, river and inlet. We also learned about coastlines.

We also learned about the blend or digraph "SH". Ask your child about some words with that sound.

Today we learned why we wear a poppy at Remembrance Day. Mrs. Howard showed us a video and read a story about why we wear a poppy. It is so we can remember those who died in the war or served in the war. Please look at the wreath we made!

We had a practice lockdown this morning. It went very smoothly.

In writing we learned about giving peer feedback. Peer feedback is when you tell a partner what they are doing well and what they need to work on. Ask your child what they can do really well! Next we are going to see what we have to work on.

This week we have been recording the temperature in Calgary, Iqaluit, Saskatoon and Meteghan.
Iqaluit is the coldest and Meteghan has had the warmest temperatures. We are measuring in degrees Celcius.

Dear parents,

We had a chilly but wonderful day at the zoo! We learned about animals in the Candian wild and how they adapt to their environment. The students also had to compare the animal they picked from Fish Creek or Prince's Island and compare it to an animal they found at the zoo.

This Friday is the Maple Ridge School Remembrance Day assembly. Parents are welcome to join for this. Please ensure your child is dressed respectfully for this assembly as it is a serious and somber occasion.

Our Next field trip in November 19th to Arts Common. We now have enough volunteers for this trip.

Thank you to the helpers who make our field trips possible!

Please have the students practice their spelling words for Friday.

Our field trip to the zoo is on Wednesday! It will be cold so please have your child dress warmly as we will outside most of the day.

see you tomorrow! hope you have a good sleep!
